God called Maria peacefully on September 19, 2014 at the age of 64. She was born November 20, 1949 in Cardinale Catanzaro, Italy. Surrounded by her loving family, God called her home. She will be held dear in the hearts of her family, relatives, and many friends. She will be reunited in Heaven with her loving husband Antonio, parents Cesare and Vittoria Comito and in laws Domenico and Maria Rosa Monardo. Loving mother to Rosa (Bruno Cunsolo), Domenic (Tania Monardo), Vittoria and Claudia (Joe Figliomeni). Proud grandmother to Antonio, Joseph and Matteo. Sister to Nicolina (Antonio Riitano), Rosina (Salvatore Pugliese), Eleonora (Agazio Chiera), Francesca (Valerio Pittelli), Tommaso Vincenzo (Ericka), Carmela Giuseppina (Francesco Losiggio). Sister in law to Domenico (predeceased), Vito (predeceased), Bruno and Salvatore Monardo. Godmother to many. She will be remembered by her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and family overseas. Maria enjoyed her garden, spending time with family and friends, going to the cottage, traveling and cooking. Visitations will be held at the Vescio Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel (8101 Weston Rd., south of Langstaff Rd., 905 850-3332) on Monday from 6-9pm and Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-9pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday September 24, 2014 at 11:00am at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church (100 Bainbridge Ave. at Martin Grove Rd.). Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery (on Hwy 27., south of Hwy 7). If so desired donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
